CC5: AoW in the spotlight

AoW performed great today, taking the surprise on their side winning against overload and epic fail to take the 2nd place in their group. They successfully pulled out three opponents and take a close loss against Epsilon ending 4-2. While overload is going to the loser's cup tomorrow, AoW will pass through to the second group stage to qualify for the final bracket with a 4-2 against overload and a 4-0 against epicFail.

Their third opponent has been the online crowd and fan mile - others call it hate mile though - who got the facts to speak all about their online skills. Tonight, they successfully raised this myths about them and came up with an astonishing team play and the individual skill required to get face to face - and above those - with their enemies. With such a great performance on the field and their management, AoW can be called LAN proven already and you can expect some new talents playing the next EuroCup.

About a year ago, the French team muse was in an equal, surprising position. Even though it's hard to compare a German and a french team with these different histories with each other, it is worth a try. And to find out more about AoW, eiM met up with their team captains PzyQ and Quark.



AoW is a clan which was found with the release of RTCW:ET. Within the last years they evolved and developed while playing Liga4Fun , Electronic Sport League and Clanbase Cups. After about 5 and a half year they today are proud to be here at the Crossfire Challenge 5. Enjoy the interview:

The first matches were played, what do you think about AoW's current results, satisfied?

Quark: No. Definately not. We lost versus Epsilon because of 1minute. Everything was possible for us in that match and we should have beaten them. Epic Fail though was a better match.
We were clearly able to beat them with 4:0. Our next match which is right now taking place versus Overload is a match between friends who often train together. We tried several tactics versus them in the matches we played versus them and as already stated it will
be a match between friends which also share a room with each other. This match will decide between the second or third place within our group.

How and in what kind did you prepare for the LAN?

Quark: Usually we would have attended with our standard lineup, including Stownage. Though he got sick shortly before the lan and so our backup coldice joined in at his place.

Lets talk about the Cheatertopic, Lan-skilldrops etc. Which position does AoW take in here?

Quark: It is good that you ask me about this topic. To be honest, AoW has a very bad reputation. But I as a founder of the AoW Clan can only say that anybody who has ever cheated within AoW was kicked and banned from our page.
We do not tolerate cheaters of any kind and it will always stay like that. We are happy with the 6players we have at the moment. They all prooved their skill on previous LAN's and showed that AoW is not cheating all the time,
to be precise does not cheat at all!

Psy-q: We have to people within our clan which work against bugs,cheats and any kind of exploits. They helped to fix the latest server crashs and similar. We wanted to build up some kind of anti cheat community which did not come reality yet. Though all I can tell you
is that we give our best to keep the team clean and do not have any symphaty for cheaters of any kind.

I heard of some so called AoW Lans. What can you tell me about these?

Quark: Yes we did an AoW Lan. This was a very nice event. We ate over 125kg meat and drank 150different beers out of more than 50 countries. We drunk a lot and had much fun, we watched movies and overall it was a great event. I am glad and happy to attend a LAN outside of the
AoW-Group and especially to share our room with the team of Overload.

What do you expect for the rest of the LAN?
Unlucky that we lost versus Epsilon. Highbot will be a 50:50 match. Epic Fail was a clear win... Due to that our place within our group will just be clarified while we are talking here.
