Oxidation of 1-propanol with Na2Cr2O7 and H2SO4 gives propanal (CH3CH2CHO) (36% yield)

it depends on the oxidizing agent and conditions.

under swern conditions it will lead you to the corresponding aldehyde -> propanal (haha)
under collins conditions you will oxidize right to the corresponding acid -> propionic acid
