Well, yeah - no match for Europe for 1st, no match for N America for 2nd. 3rd could be interesting though - between Asia (aka Israel) and Oceania (Aus+NZ) imo, although S America could field a half decent team I guess.

I don't even know if there are any African players, and I don't think you're going to find a thriving Antarctic ET community ;)

For CB EC/OC competitions, the rules specifically state that teams must have the majority of their players from Europe, Israel and/or Russia (ie Israel and Russia are stated seperately from Europe because some definitions don't include them in Europe), although we have made exceptions in the past for American teams, I believe.

Israel isn't part of Europe, but somehow they are allowed to play the European Championships! Officially it's still in Asia as far as I know.

Possibly, in a geopolitical sense. In a geographical sense, it's most definitely in Asia.

geographically its on the Eurasian Plate and politically its counted as being in europe so cant really see what your argueing about.

Politically it's not counted as being in Europe, afaik. I just included that 'possibly' in case I was wrong. I can't find anywhere that references Israel as being a European nation, although they're frequently included in competitions with European nations, for example, with a 'from Europe and Israel' clause.

EDIT: Here's an interesting article about the possibility, and unlikelyhood, of Israel joining Europe politically (although that might be a bit partisan in other aspects, re-reading it).

They haven't granted Turkey admission, just set the basis to it. An endless series of hoops to jump through first - plenty stumbling blocks.

Though they reckon France will block it regardless.
