for sure they can, I know of cats that have chewed headphone cables broke, and those were MUCH thicker than a razer (copperhead, which I have...) cord...

€: open up mouse and replace the usb cable. Problem solved. Prolly will need new feet as you need to remove them to be able to open the mouse. Shouldnt really be a problem as you can find extra feet in the manual.
