DVD .vob files

hey guys, i got a nice dvd and i want to ul it, but the files are in .vob format.
how can i encode them to avi or smth?
and how can i copy all the stuff from dvd to my pc in a normal format?

just rar or zip it and upload imo. too complex to explain to get your dvd format (vobs) to an avi with decent quality.
