Apparently, our server is hosted at the same place as the first gamestv.org server is hosted, which means it should be just as good. And no, proxy is of no help to around the blocked ports, I've asked quite a lot of nerds about it (not you though). Not even Kamz could find a way around it, so I guess it's as close to impossible as it could be..
What kind of excuse does HMG have in order to whine about that game? Oh wait, none! Either way, they would have whined no matter what server it would have been. I can't play on any other servers but the ones with port 27000, because of some stupid restrictions at this university, and I find it just fair that we play on a server that works for all players (instead of making it a forfeit) until I get this internet sorted out.
You could have played with a merc or used a proxy.
More like: ruin the game for 6 players to save the game for one. (+ one couldn't connect to your server and we have played 3on3 there so we know how bad it is.)

you play competitions to win, if getting a forfeit helps you win then its good to take them, if u wanna play for fun accept the loss and go play sum pub and stop whinning about it
you say playing 1 official a month is a bad thing but you also said you play for fun. playing a prac war is as just as fun as an official. the only difference is that officals actualyl count for something that why people play to win them making a forfeit win ok even if a team uses "extreme" measures to get one.
Yeh I guess im the only one who really hates what this community has become, not saying im not guilty ofc- being one of the biggest flamers. but to desperately try to get an forfeit when the team is there and ready to play- is just lame.
hehe yeh, we had quite the welcome when we decided to play cod2. but i couldnt go on playing it cause 50 fps and high ping doesnt work without antilag. but the community was good
