A question about games olaptop/pc

So I just got this laptop and its like twice as good as my old pc. Now I have some games that I (legally) installed on my pc. Now I want to play those games on my laptop but obviously when I install them with the same cd key I get banned for duplicated cd key (I live somewhere else now too on the week days). Do I have to uninstall the games and then install them on my laptop or is it not possible period?

depends on what games i guess
cod2 for example can be installed on multiple pc's, it's only a problem if you start playing on both pc's at the same time, don't know how this works with newer games
