New HDD, new problems.

So, as I already wrote today, I have a new HDD. Because of that, I thought, I would have a new guid etc. as I already wrote in my journal before. And it happened.

I was playing on bio just a minute ago just to warm up before playing more seriously tomorrow with my mates. And then I got called a hacker a few times, was voted to be kicked from the server and read something like that on the chat: 'Yoshiharu unknown guid?'. I didn't know anything about that- I didn't check my guid- thought it'd just be a new one like it usually is when you change your PC components. Then I got spectated by some guys from my team who were selfkilling for a full spawn or I got gibbed by them later so I decided to leave the server. I checked my yawn and it really is like that- I have no etpro guid.

And the question is: what's the matter? I haven't a clue. I hope someone here knows the answer and will tell it to me or I'll have a bit of a problem playing ET.

Btw. I changed today from ATA to SATA HDD if it will be of some help. No more changes have been done.

Beer solves everything but somehow it has no power to give me my guid back! >/ I'll try again while watching the match in the pub with my crew so it'll be like 'superb drink + cool drinkers' and I think it'll have more world-changing power!

play on pubs where these egoistic fuckers arent calling every guy a hacker :)

its pretty common that you dont get a guid but you can try mix up ur hardware and wish for the best!

or get a spoofer and spoof ur old guid!

And I don't really know which pubs are full of such stupid guys and which are not- I don't like to play on publics- I just go in for them when I want to check something or just warm up after a bit of inactivity or- by it's a very rare case- when I'm so bored that even listening to the whole playlist doesn't work. And I know only three or four names of the publics that I used to play on in the beginning of my ET'ing. And it was over one and half a year ago so I don't really know if they have changed a lot.

So I think I'll just wait for the guid to show up or I will blackmail him in the other case!

The reason you have no ET guid lies probably in your motherboard. In some extremely rare cases, older motherboard chipsets have problems recognizing new components.

Your PC works fine, don't worry about it, yet since the motherboard doesn't precisely recognize your new HDD errors in generating your unique guide may occur.

I have to admit that I've read about this particular problem in some forum thread. Therefore what I say may be nothing more than pure blasphemy and have no resemblance to the actual source of this problem.

Well, till that day I'll just have to bear with all those wnb-cheatbuster guys. I'll somehow manage.

Well in PL we sometimes use the word "bluznierstwo" (blasphemy) to emphasize that what someone is saying is nothing more than a filthy lie. I don't know if you can do the same in other languages though.

Blasphemy is the defamation of the name of one or more gods. These may include using sacred names as stress expletives without intention to pray or speak of sacred matters. Sometimes blasphemy is used loosely to mean any profane language.
