Eurocup Group Stage

Another two days of Eurocup Matches are almost here. A total of 6 matches are to be played on Sunday and Monday. We are closing in on the end of the Group Stage and there are still a few spots free in the Play Offs. Who will take them is the big question... This round of matches could decide alot. I'm sure we'll see some great matches. Now for a quick overview of the upcoming matches:

Impact, who are taking on VAE on Sunday, only need 2 points to advance to the Play Off Stage. I asked manager Paul "eVo" Sexton wether Impact should take those 2 points and take it easy for the rest of the match. Interview
Well it would be an option yea cause like you said its possible however I dont think any serious EC contending team would do such a thing. VAE are a top class side and we will show them the respect they deserve going into this game.

-Do you think your team is ready to take on the bigger names in the Play Offs?

I would say Impact are one of the bigger names. :P But are we ready to come up against the likes of Dignitas, TLR, Polar etc... yes, I would say as you would expect the longer we play together the stronger we get, its an obvious pattern as teamplay develops with longevity in the team.

-Last questions, shouldn't you be hanging out with the K1ck team to encourage them to take down Elite? Since a win by them would assure you of the Play Offs. No matter what your score is against VAE

-How high do you think your chances are to beat Impact Gaming tomorrow?

Not very... lol.

-But losing to Impact tomorrow means there will be alot of pressure on the last game versus Elite... Do you think the new line-up is stable enough to cope with it?

Yes, well at least I hope so. We aren't expecting to take anything away from the game with Impact, even if it is on two new maps. The game versus elite is another story however. We should all have the individual experience, if not the teamplay - to beat the elite team on two more familiar maps.

-Are you satisfied with the performance of the new line-up?

So far there is nothing to be dissappointed about... we took in 3 new players, it's basically like starting again. It will take time to adjust and become familiar with each others playing styles aswell as developing the much needed teamplay... only time will tell.

As you can see VAE isn't expecting a win tomorrow, they are currently betting on their match against Elite. Though that's a risky bet. Would Elite beat K1ck tomorrow, the decision in this Group would be taken in a head on war between Elite and VAE. We'll see how it goes tomorrow. Good luck to all teams in Group D!
