Those peski Polskis have been at it again, and been running their own cup without a thought of sharing it with us plebs. I've tried at least 14 Polish-English translator sites, with results ranging from crashing mid-way through, to spitting back a mixture of English and Polish. Luckily enough, I was able to brave the weird obsessions of making bold capital letters and that text which is supposed to makes sense to someone, and armed with only my courage and knowlege of 'kurwa' from pubs gone by, I reckon I've just about sussed what's going on. (Yes, so I needed an opening paragraph, and the site is pretty obvious if you stare at it.)
Aaanyway, it's _apparently_ the Finals of the Polski Winterovski Cup, run expertly by a bunch of Maciek [PL]s and Killer_PLs. Warriors of Wolfenstein have made it through to face FBI.et aka Mystic.Gaming. Other teams such as sykotic, Fear Factory and Fatal Aftermath have all fallen, be it through poor play, or, more likely, poor pings. Kurwa!

Congratulations to uQ-Gaming who win the EuroCup with a score of 4-0
The day has arrived! And what a journey its been. The 12th Clanbase Eurocup began in November of last year, and has certainly delivered in terms of entertainment, controversy and much, much more. The 8 directly invited teams and 8 qualified teams have fought a long, bloody war, but now only two remain. That's right, its finals time.
IDKFA, rAtatosk, gods.inc, Id.no, pstarZ, one4one and wArning. All big names who have tried, but fallen as the rigours of playing Eurocup ET have taken their toll. And not just fallen, but completely fallen over with a triple somersault and a reverse twist. All these aforementioned clans have, at some point in the EC, split up and ceased to exist. Okay, so you have pstarZ reforming, and one4one were a qualified team, but the stat speaks for itself. But will players concentrate on clan play or on the here-again Nations Cup? Only time will tell.
uQ-Gaming have also announced their end at the conclusion of this Eurocup, but this time there's a difference. Yup, they're still in it! Having powered through the playoff stages without losing a game, the Fins now have two chances to bring back first place and a share of the $ 750 grand prize, not to mention ending on a positive (if you can call winning the EC a positive, I think its just a competition for WoW players and desperados personally :o)))) ).
Their opponents tonight are the formidable, and explosive team they call Idle. As said now a million times before, it was uQ who knocked Idle down into the loser's bracket in the playoff first round, leaving them unable to lose any games thereafter. Such was the hammering uQ game the Estonians in that game that many had already written them off without watching another game. But Night & Co. had other ideas, cruising through to the finals following a 4 - 0 win at the hands of gods.inc. Having to win 2 finals is a tall order for any clan, not to mention having to beat uQ, but if anyone is up to the task, it is surely Idle.
ETTV too is getting into shape, with coverage galore already confirmed - don't be suprised to see the slots increase further today.

With TosspoT getting poisoned by South Korean food, messrs Kee_RinG & FlyingDJ will be shoutcasting on seperate streams, Radio iTG and Zenith Radio respectively. foonr (whoever he is) will be interviewed on Zenith radio as part of the build up, tune in from 20:00 CET !_!
Possibly the most interviewed person in ET has done the impossible...and got himself interviewed again. naXiD popped onto IRC this afternoon and asked me to post about his interview with TosspoT, and so I duely shall.
Topics discussed include university life, personal projects, cheep beer and trips down memory lane (cliché from me but whatever). naXiD continues his great work for the community as ever, and I'm sure it'll present everyone with an interesting read. The interview can be read at own3D International. Here's a little extract:
[/i] naXiD - We often see you posting some news on the scenepage xfire. Now, you got voted as the Person who "has done the most for the ET Community"... Is this trophy the long awaited feedback for your work, time and nerves you put into that hobby?
TosspoT I'm extremely greatful for that award, but in all fairness I really dont deserve it, there are modders and admins who put in alot of more time and effort than I do, just the majority of the work I do is in the public domain. However I am again extremely greatful to those who recognise my work :)

From the ashes, this newspost, at least, returns.
Over the course of 3 days, #ET-Cup help you to recover from the weekend by putting on what should be a very entertaining "short" 6v6 cup. It is of course not our 'main event': the traditional ET-Cup style with a greater variety of custom maps, more teams & more coverage will be coming soon!
This is to celebrate our recent partnership with #UltimateQuest who are providing us with 2 excellent ETTV compatible servers for use in cup competitions.
The event kicks off with the first 2 rounds on Sunday, and the semi-finals + final on Monday. This allows 16 teams to participate, in what is a straight knockout.
You've probably heard the whispers, or witnessed the event first hand. The reason? IDKFA.et is no more.
The team itself has heralded some impressive results in the Eurocup before tonight, winning games against the likes of wA, rA, s-E and other top class gaming outfits at the time. However, all good things (unfortunately) have to come to an end, and tonight is the night that IDKFA disconnected from the server for the last time.
m1lk asked me to pass on a few words: just a general 'thank you' and an apology that "we couldn't give everyone a nice last idkfa performance". Indeed, quitting after a game is hardly the way to go, but we should surely remember IDKFA for their many merits and positives, for which they have given us plenty.

To uncover some more details, I cornered LoTiX in a dark alleyway until he agreed to tell me more...
Whatever your persuasion, ETTV for tonight caters for all, with Clanbase presenting matches from both its OC 3v3 and EC 6v6 competitions. Present on both occasions are the formidable Idle.
In the Opencup, Idle and TWK meet each other having overcome the challenges of Logitech and pff.et in the quarter final stages.
The result is far from a foregone conclusion, with both team sure to be fighting hard to book their place in the final against pwn-team, the self-titled "Fun 3v3 clan" who of course overcame Reality Squared and cs3r dust in the previous rounds.
Moving on from the prelude, at 9 CET tonight Idle are again back in action, this time as 6, this time in the Eurocup, pitted against strong rivals IDKFA. Both clans are in last-chance saloon, having dropped down to the loser's bracket, ironically, at the hands of the same opponents: uQ.
The winner of this match-up goes on to face the loser of the all Finn encounter of uQ vs gods.inc in the winners bracket, so neither side are out of the creek yet. Expect no prisoners!
Time then for an update regarding the status of this, the 2nd Talk-ET cup!
Starting on January 23rd, the cup is planned to be a 32 clan single-elimination for 6v6. We debated whether to use double elimination, but came to the conclusion it'd run better this way. Makes the competition more interesting we like to think :O>
The two finalists of the last cup, AngelDust and SKIT-EVIL qualify by default, with the remaining 30 spaces to be filled with clans who wish to sign up and play. Our resident self-proclaimed Northern genius vowel is in place to check the credibility of sign-ups, in order to keep drop-outs to an absolute minimum.
As for prizes:
* A 3 months free "lightning-fast" gameserver
* A 6 months free voice server
Maps & Selection
As for map selection, the process has been a long, drawn out, but nevertheless necessary occurance. We've drawn up a set list of maps.
Here's the situation currently:
Of course, the more feedback we receive, the better for you! The intention is to select 2 maps from the 4 possibles.

Coverage *UPDATE*
I've just spoken to FlyingDJ[/b] who has given me his personal assurances that he will be shoutcasting the 141 - god game! Stop chaging your mind damnit!:>
TosspoT and RadioiTG also will be out in force, casting the uQ - IDKFA game. It's a little bit of a sad occasion, with Tossie going back to university to do that thing they call missing lectures and eating breakfasts of pizza. Enjoy the 'fun' while it lasts!
Expect plenty more ETTV servers to be listed soon!
So, the end of another year. And what a year its been! 2005 can be looked back on as possibly the most successful year for ET since it came into being nearly three years ago, in April of '03. And the reason for the success? Quite simply, the community. People like you who keep this game not just alive, but very much kicking. This equates to both the non-playing community, and the players themselves.
This is why we have decided to host ET awards for 2005; to look back on the year that has been and celebrate all that has been good for arguably the best year that ET has enjoyed.
The awards have been a joint initiative between resku (who deserves most of the credit), and TosspoT, two individuals committed to this community, and in thanking those who have given us all so much. All we ask now is that you take a little time over your work to consider the votes available accross 5 different categories of recognition, and reward those who deserve it. Much work and pain (yes, real pain!) went into making the articles not only look pretty, but also be extremely useful. We hope you enjoy reading them, and voting.
We also managed to actually get the previously borked articles section working, and so the awards can be seen in their full glory HERE.
And now if I type anymore I actually will die. Cya tomorrow, vote the night away! The deadline is January 1st.
'Tis the week following Christmas, and news headlines are in full party mode (puns are so December!). Featuring tomorrow comes two of Europe's biggest names, as Clanbase's Eurocup hosts a game capable of providing some very interesting results. The opertunity is there, will Idle's trip to Santa's grotto be cut short?
In the Eurocup, the Estonian powerhouse Idle.ee show no signs of slowing their post-Quakecon domination, with many a team having tried unsuccessfully to blemish the record. Their opponents are the rejuvenated wArning!, enjoying the sort of form they hoped anubis and mike would bring to them before they joined, and after the departure of Winghaven. Anything can happen, and it normally does!
Idle.ee -vs- wArning!
