To the great displeasure of myself and assuredly many others within the ET community, it must be announced that ohurcool will be stepping down from CyberGamer.
The second edition of the Crossfire Draft Tournament has ended! Matias took on xPERiA in the Grand Final to eventually take home the trophy for best Draft Team. Previous CDT winner Clown placed 3rd after a steady looking journey through the playoffs, before being knocked down to the Losers Bracket and then out of the entire tournament by Team xPERiA. Sadly Clown's first pick kARn4J wasn't available to play, originally he was replaced by kartez until the Losers Bracket Final where fragmovie superstar filuS filled in.
The Brackets are up! Last night the teams for CDT2 were formed by the captains of the 144 signups. Some picks more notable than others, one thing is for sure, we'll be seeing some highly action-packed matches tomorrow evening!
Upon changing the cup system to Open Signups, this has boosted the number of players in the Poule from the 48 invited players in CDT1 to 144 signups for CDT2. This gives each captain a very big choice over players, I'm quite sure nobody will be unhappy with their team and nobody will be 'forced' to play with anyone they don't want to.
Following the success of CDT1, the second edition of the Crossfire Draft Tournament is ready for the competitive ET community! Captains, Players and Spectators alike all seemed happy with the tournament. For those who didn't follow the first tournament:
With the recent announcement of the Crossfire Draft Tournament we are burdened with the task of assigning each player to a team. Originally we chose 40 players to form a poule, to which each captain would pick 5 from in alternating turns; this has been changed to a 48 playerpoule (Captains pick 5 Main & 1 Backup) to avoid "mercs" being taken if a main lineup player has issues.
I am proud to present to you the Crossfire Draft Tournament! Captains have been chosen to form 8 teams from a poule of players. With a strong combination of good coverage, shoutcasting, management and interesting matches we hope for a successful tournament for the whole community to see! If it is a success you will certainly see more of these in future, with possibly more teams if held on a Sunday. Wait and see!
After a successful Spring season, the dominant Queens team who won the YCN ET Challenge and joint won the Clanbase EuroCup XXIII consisted of FLoPJEHZ, miNd, phyZiC, rAzZ, sqzz and toxic. The team has over summer disbanded and the remaining players decided to rebuild the squad for the Crossfire: Battle for Berlin 6on6 tournament!
As many of you will be aware, Anexis eSports e. V. have joined up with the former The Last Resort ET Squad after the news of TLR closing down. The team who won last season's EuroCup were in need of a new Organisation for the current season - to which they're competing in ClanBase EuroCup XXIII, YCN Spring Challenge and eSports Challenge LAN. The roster is as follows:
The team have undergone some changes since Fall 2010 with Jay renewing his spot in the roster as M1lk departed from the lineup, along with sqzz, one of TLR's most decorated members leaving to join the fellow online competitor Queens after informing his clanmates that he'd be unable to attend future LANs. Being rather tough shoes to fill, Finnish powerhouse Matias was the final replacement for sqzz to bring a balanced lineup back to the team.
I caught up with Matias for a fairly informative statement of his feelings surrounding the team in general and how he is finding it to take sqzz's place.
