Reigning Eurocup champions Speedlink have won the Outpost on Fire Call of Duty tournament in Antwerp this weekend. Whilst information has been in short supply we know that they had to overcome old foes Dignitas to take the gold.

They infact faced Dignitas twice, first in the winners bracket where they avenged their defeat in Eurocup 11 by beating Mick and the Dignitas gang 16-12 on Toujane. Dignitas answered back with a stunning 16:5 win over TMPClan to get themselves a place in the grand final.

In tense and thriling final on Burgundy the match went right down to the wire with Speedlink taking the match in the final round winning 16:14 over a dejected Dignitas.

The final standings are as follows:

1st - Speedlink - 1500 euros + hardware
2nd - Dignitas - 750 euros + hardware
3rd - TMPClan - 250 euros + hardware

After a poll within the clanleaders there will be ET Qualifiers for the lan, and with some 22 teams signing up for an 8 team tournament, we've extended the qualifiers from 8 teams competing for 4 spots, to 16 teams competing for 4 spots.

We are proud to announce that the 4 invited teams will be:

Those teams will also be seeded at the lan itself, with the other 4 spots determined by a single elimation tournament between 16 teams for the final places!
Those 16 teams have again gone under the seeding hammer and team.nl, tank34, v&e & sFx have been seeded.

The qualifiers are to all be played on FIXED maps of SupplyDepot & Radar with Frostbite as a decider if needed. With matches the first round of matches to be played this week on Wednesday or Thursday with the second round due to be played on Sunday or Monday.
Matches are to be played using the Crossfire Config, and for the most part players and teams are asked to arrange their matches on their own as there is a very small admin team for the qualifiers.

Leading the ET Tournament will be Nellie and you should inform him of all schedulings, conflicts and concerns. - When you have scheduled your match, you should message Nellie in #Crossfire.

This weekend sees the cream of the crop turning out in Antwerp for the Outpost on fire Lan. Call of Duty 2 takes to the main stage as the greatest teams in the world turn out for a cracking weekends action.

After the end of the Eurocup season, Call of Duty has been crying out for an event to captivate its audience once again and this most certainly is it. An all star cast will turn out, featuring Speedlink, Dignitas, Raw Gaming & many more will battle it out for over 5000 euros worth of prizes so make sure you dont miss a click!

Speedlink go into this tournament the favourites, with experience and accolades to boot. Bouyed by the collapse of their rivals Check 6, they will look to Dignitas or TeK-9 as their main challengers. Dont be surprised if Insignia Cadre cause a surprise as they're known to raise their game on lan, espcially with the surprise whitewash at Playz lan back in March.

The tool used to create the freecams seen in the SmireBoule R3 ET Trailer has today been released to the public. Camtrace3d by gg67 allows moviemakers to have more power over scripted cameras ingame. The tool has already been tested privately be many moviemakers, being used in movies such as Event Horrizon² and Marred 3. This is a summary of what ct3D can do:


- Ability to create camera paths and to modify them as you wish.
- Import camera/entities coordinates generated from the game
- Define curve duration.
- Launch a specific demo with custom configuration directly from the software.

Quakecon staff have today rectified their previous error of judgements. In a move to appease players travelling to compete, spending thousands of dollars the tournament size has now been doubled. Increasing the number of teams competing from 8 to 16. The structure will remain double elimination.

It is believed this move come after players from both America and Europe raised the issue with Quakecon staff, worried that they could effectively waste their air fare. This move enables both ‘proper’ teams travelling, and BYOC mixes to compete. There was controversy when the initial announcement was made, as with it being ‘First Come First Served’ teams spending thousands of dollars to travel risked not securing a place in the tournament.

Along with this change, and although severely belated, the Quakecon Enemy Territory 5v5 config has now been released – just one week before the tournament starts. This config looks to appease players from both Europe and America.

The one notable cvar that could cause some controversy is the inclusion of pronedelay, an etpro feature not used in America – though used in Europe for almost two season’s. More worryingly however, is that this config does not limit the number of soldiers a team can have. Enabling teams to run both the panzerfaust and mortar on Battery, whilst also utilising the 5 mines available.

Tournament Director Nate has also clarified that USB Rate Switchers will not be allowed at Quakecon. In a post on the Quakecon forums he stated

The summer series is still in progress but this does not stop us from announcing the third official ESL Qualifier Cup to compete in the Falls International Premiership Series. Get your team ready and take one of the 16 slots in the upcoming cup for yourself.

The international IPS Qualifier will be played in a single elimination bracket. The teams can signup until 11.08.2006.

Who is going to choose the 16 Teams
The 16 teams will be chosen by their latest stability and achievements in the last ESL cups and in other leagues. Every clan can prove itself by playing the cups running in the next days and weeks.

Maps
The iTGs dutch host stewie, ETTV king arni and Crossfires Nellie will support us in selecting the 7th map of the cup.
It will be totally new or a common classic map: Warbell, SW Fueldump or Snatch2. In addition to one of these maps, we have the following maps in our pool:
Adlernest, Braundorf, Frostbite, SW Goldrush TE, Würzburg Radar, Supply Depot 2.
